I bought this gauge to add to my "travel toolkit” (AKA pickup truck). I already have a nice (and expensive) Fluke 179 that I have at work. on the go or at home so I don't have to take my Fluke with me. It seemed like the best option for a relatively inexpensive take-away DMM. It lacks a few features that the Fluke has, BUT this gauge costs about 10% as much as the Fluke and has enough accuracy for pretty much everything I'd probably need a gauge for. It really comes down to this question, does it meet my needs? and the answer is yes. I've seen and used counters that cost 3-4 times as much and have MUCH fewer features.
