Others have already covered the main points. The insert is metal, not plastic. It comes with a shim which is not designed for the 4000 table saw, but the question arises as the 4000 requires the inner stabilizing washer to be completely removed and the outer stabilizing washer to be used as the INNER shim. DO NOT install the washer from the outside. Just a nut! This works and aligns the dado widestack with the insert. The instructions do not contain any information on previous use of the 4000 saw and a washer suitable for the 4000 mandrel should have been included. Hence the 4 out of 5 ratings.
