Review on πŸ’§ Enhance Water Quality with the Whirlpool WHEERM Reverse Replacement Membrane by Timothy Weems

Revainrating 1 out of 5

Worked for 2 months then worse than tap water and no customer support

Ordered a membrane and 2 filter cartridges late July 2020, fitted August 2nd 2020, TDS water test using old membrane and cartridges that came with all system filtration, which we installed in our main sink 2 years ago: 271ppm, after installing newer ones: 54, great! 2 months later the water tasted funny like it was very heavy and bad, I thought maybe it's me, there was a week and still I just couldn't drink this water anymore, so I finally tested it again and it was 257 , today is another month (3 total) and it is being tested 360 with very little use! (from husband). $90 for 2 months instead of 1 year minimum. Our previous cartridges were over 2 years old and the water was fine, odorless and tasted good. I was only considering buying new ones because the recommendation was to change them and also because the TDS of reverse osmosis filtered water should be around 50 parts per million. I've tried contacting Whirlpool support on Revain's advice but to no avail, 'help' is just a virtual assistant with questions wasting my time (and fetching my information) with no response. Later I tried again only to waste another half hour waiting for a real live expert telling me every 3-4 minutes that my wait is still 15 minutes. I think I'll just go to Home Depot and buy the same system as the kitchen sink which is $200 instead of paying another $90 for cartridges that I don't know will last at least 6 months as advertised becomes. I wish I thought Whirlpool was the best brand. I do NOT recommend.

Pros
  • Replacement water filter
Cons
  • Expensive
