I'd like to preface this review by saying that I'm a regular guy who gets a stud finder about every 6 months or every time his wife buys one need to use a new mirror or something. I have had this device for 4 months now and I have used it twice. With other squeaky spike finders it would take me a really long time to guess where the spikes are, going back and forth, back and forth - really trying to triangulate where that 2x4 is and on previous devices I've missed the spike . I have found that with the Zircon MS 740 I have much more confidence in my results. As expected, I do a few extra swipes to make sure I get it right the first time, but the results are far more convincing. I have no disadvantages in the device. I like the built in marker (which turned out to be way more handy than I gave it credit for) and the herd interface is pretty decent. I like that the device won't turn on until it turns on and is on a flat surface. Also, I'm still running on the same 9 volt battery I started with. So, I'm a lucky tourist. I hope this review helps with the next chapter :)
