Description of πŸ”Ž Zircon MultiScanner 740 Electronic Wall Scanner with Erasable Wall Marker, Built-In - (72306)

Zircon's MS 740 is a multi-surface scanner with 4 modes that allow you to detect and mark the location of studs, metal and live AC wiring. ACT (Auto Correcting Technology) that automatically corrects common user errors, such as when scanning begins over a stud, in addition to the unique floating head design that keeps the sensor flat on rough and textured surfaces to increase the accuracy of results. Both StudScan and DeepScan modes locate the edges, center and direction of wood or metal studs and joists; Metal Scan mode finds both non-ferrous metal (such as copper pipe) and ferrous metal (such as rebar) even through lath and plaster; AC Scan finds and traces live, unshielded electrical AC wires. WireWarning Detection indicates the presence of live, unshielded electrical AC wiring while scanning in StudScan, DeepScan, and Metal Scan modes. Integrated erasable wall marker enables users to mark targets with the simple push of a button.

Works as expected except for the ability to 'tag'

I bought this product 3 weeks ago and have been using it several times a week since. My partner and I just moved into a house and I've installed a lot of shelves/hooks/shelves etc and this tool has come in very handy for making sure I'm putting things where I want them. I was happy with 5 stars until today when the 'tag' feature started not working properly. Manufacturers have cleverly designed their scanner to include a small piece of pencil lead that leaves a small mark on the wall when you…

Solid results on scanners and testers

I'd like to preface this review by saying that I'm a regular guy who gets a stud finder about every 6 months or every time his wife buys one need to use a new mirror or something. I have had this device for 4 months now and I have used it twice. With other squeaky spike finders it would take me a really long time to guess where the spikes are, going back and forth, back and forth - really trying to triangulate where that 2x4 is and on previous devices I've missed the spike . I have found that…

Great machine, great company!

Multiscanner 740 works well. It easily captures the edges and centerlines of tips and detects active electrical lines. I will say that on first contact I had 1-2 false negatives over a known spike location so you really need to do a lot of area checking. Also, I'm not the biggest fan of the design that requires you to click on the wall to activate. I would prefer a replacement. I also specifically reached out to Zircon to ask about "disappointment-free packaging" as Revain has a reputation for…

Zircon MS740 MultiScanner Stud Finder - lots of features!

The Zircon MS740 multiscanner has everything you want and more. It requires a 9V battery to operate and it has so many features that I couldn't describe them all. It scans studs, metal, and AC power cords to name a few. The screen is brightly lit with easy-to-read indicators. There is a marking function built in so you don't have to hunt for a pencil every time you need to mark bolt locations and the list goes on. See the Zircon website or the Revain description for details on what this handy…
