Review on Shifting Stones By Gamewright: A Tile-Based Family Strategy Game For Sharpening Visual And Tactical Decision-Making Skills by Shrikant Ojo

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Fun simple family game, could be more challenging

You lay the tiles down and play your hand to flip or switch the tiles. You do this in order to create a pattern that matches a card in your hand, hence scoring points. I played with my two kids 9 and 7 that play and enjoy games like Dragonwood, Forbidden Island, kingdomino, sushi go and an occasional exploding kittens. This game is super simple to learn which is great, it also is a quick play for those that don't like to finish games. Honestly, I enjoyed the game, however, this isn't a game that requires intense strategy. I think its better suited for younger children and could lose its appeal for anyone older. There is SO MUCH potential in this game though. I wish it came with more tiles or difficulty levels to make it a more challenging game for adults.

Pros
  • 7.9 x 7.9 x 2.3 inches
Cons
  • Lacks replay value and can become boring after a few plays
