ONLY in the outlet! PLEASE read my review.

Attention! That's just the way out. You MUST use this to replace an existing option. 115 AC comes from an inverter module installed under the passenger seat. If you don't have an existing option, you'll need a frame, $30, a module, $100, possibly a wire harness, $50, and flashing at the dealer, $140. As I said, I did a fresh install. I disassembled the outlet, threw out the guts and connected a short length of extension cord to the pins. I then connected a 300 watt Bestec inverter to the cigarette lighter wires. I connected the said piece of extension cable to the Bestek. WALA! I now have 300 watts of 115 volt AC on my dash controlled by the ignition, $50 total! Remember that 300w at 115 of 12vdc is 10 to 1. So 300w at 115 is 2.5 amps on the high side. It's 25 amps on the bottom. So be careful. Your vehicle must be running to avoid battery drain. 300W is ideal for a computer, small TV, small camping fridge, etc.
