Review on Boye Afghan Crochet Hook 14 by Wendy Rodriguez

I love this hook - it's the longest of the many '14' hooks in my collection (some of them are slightly smaller than this size); it is true size H (ie 5mm: I checked it with my husband's measurements and also compared it to my other H hooks); and it has a nicely shaped (conical) head. I mentioned these last points because I see where Boye Tunisian/Afghan blue ticks have received legitimate criticism for their letter size designation being smaller than the industry standard. In fairness they indicate in advance what a millimeter is at the bottom of the package, but it's thinner than the accepted norm (you can read the number on the picture if you zoom in). I also didn't like the shape of the actual crochet hook on Boye's blue tunis, which seemed to stretch too far to work well in the crochet technique it was designed for, while this one has the right proportions - but that's all I can do judge compare two product photos. For these reasons I chose this model and I am very happy about it. Now I'm hoping to find some larger sizes in this style - I don't know why Boye changes them or chose to resize to blue.
