Yes unit will fit as described. Except that the shock absorber housing is directly in front of the bottom of the differential. Now this will be the bottom part of the jeep! isn't cool I rotated the axle brace on the other side of the spring to the driver's side and the free play seems fine as it lifts the block off the axle. I have to keep an eye on that. You may need to weld a special bracket if that doesn't work. The Jeep defiantly drives better (but any new anti-roll bar would do.) Owners of a 1973 CJ5 are better off choosing a different seat. Look for a shorter block with eyelets on the end, like a regular shock absorber. Remember that an entire page of the manual is dedicated to Jesus. I'm not sure if this will improve device performance, but we'll see.
