I asked Kaiterra for a replacement product (if it hadn't broke so quickly I would have given this product a good rating). The Laser Egg+ suddenly stopped working properly after a very short time. The battery, which used to charge for several hours, now drains immediately after turning off the device, and even when connected to Wi-Fi, it stops working. Factory reset didn't help other than losing my previous settings without being able to restore them. That's another quirk of the clunky interface - unfortunately, its useful features, and even basic settings like screen brightness and preferred units of measurement, can only be adjusted after connecting to another device via Wi-Fi. The app isn't pretty, but it works and is generally useful, just annoying that you can't take advantage of Egg's best features without using your phone. What's good: The PM2.5 particle counter is actually VERY accurate; I've tested several other small devices and several large, industrial-grade AQI monitors. It's also nice that it can show air quality readings for three standards: US, China or India. The VOC sensor is slightly different. I believe that's *accurate*, but the fact of the matter is that "Volatile Organic Compounds" covers such a wide variety of chemical traces that reading it may not necessarily be helpful. For example, if you cook in the next room, reading simply overturns. Reading is not wrong, but it can disturb unnecessarily. If you drink a cocktail in the same room or wipe the surface with alcohol, the reading will rise again. Either way you can just toggle the display to AQI and it will give you a more useful particle count and I found that very useful. In my opinion the device would get five or four stars if it gave me more. than a month to love it.
