Review on BFGoodrich Mud-Terrain T/A KM3 245/65 R17 116Q summer by Stanislaw Lambach ᠌

Great product, a pleasure to use.

The rubber is giving me a lot of trouble right now. In my perspective, it is a significant improvement over the first generation and an improvement over the second generation. It seemed to me that in terms of handling on asphalt, it was inferior to the yokohama M/T G001. On the other hand, it was much superior in terms of wear resistance, when driving through mud without slipping, and was less likely to slide sideways on hills.

Pros
  • Exceptional holding power on all slick and muddy terrain. Even while driving with rear-wheel drive, you may perform a rapid start on gravel without the car slipping; it simply goes and that's it. This is an indication of the problem. It does not feel at all like you are riding on square wheels, which are featured on the Yokohama G001 when traveling at "cork" speeds. The rubber is very soft, and contrary to my expectations for a long journey, it needs to be pumped noticeably more, and not less than some kind of "civilian" rubber. If this is not done, there will be an increase of + 15% in the consumption, and there will be almost no rolling, in addition to the possibility of a feeling of "breaking" the front wheels when making a tight turn.
Cons
  • I was not anticipating the level of noise produced by the tires. When traveling between 60 and 80 kilometers per hour, the noise can be heard most clearly. It seems to make even more noise than the M/T equivalents, however I cannot compare it to the Silverstone MT 117. It seems to me that this is only a summer version (unlike g001, which can even accomplish something in the winter), but as a summer version, it is possibly superior to the other versions that are available.
