Review on MICRO JIG DV 360ZPB1 ZEROPLAY Sled by Ryan Lindstrom

Good idea but mediocre product.

The idea of using a sliding table to make complex and precise cuts on a table saw is very attractive. What you get with this set is minimal in my opinion. You have to build the sled yourself, which requires some skill. The dovetail cuts you will cut as directed can be made with a standard dovetail cutter. That's true, but Zeroplay makes a modified cutter for about $25 that's probably better for sliding plastic parts. The plastic piece that can be adjusted to fit your corner slot is not that long. It is better to add a second one. I couldn't take the fence and hold on tight enough that they wouldn't slip. To solve the problem I added self-adhesive sandpaper to both parts. Now they work fine. Again, I think a skilled carpenter could build his own sled and use a ready-made slanted lumber or a store-made one. Then use a T-slot cutter with plastic-handled carriage bolts or wing nuts.
