Whether you're starting from scratch like me or just need to expand your tools this is a great set. I am a blacksmith who recently started making scabbards and this was my first set. I am very pleased with the variety and quality of this set. I can make all my sheaths, no problem. I also like how much wax thread is in this set. I made 2 full covers and barely used a quarter roll. The tools are strong and work well. The only downside is that the case is small. So once you've removed everything, you probably won't put it back. I won't take off the stars because I bought it for the kit, not the case. I ended up buying a cheap tackle box to organize all my leather and leather accessories. A+
