Check valve needs to check the flow of water when installed properly.

The check valve works well for several months but then starts to leak the water back thru the valve after the condensate pump shuts off. This allows the water to drain out of the tubing and back into the condensate pump.

Cons

The valve may leak oil or fuel, creating a messy and potentially hazardous situation
