Review on 🧀 Rösle Stainless Steel Sturdy Cheese Plane: A Reliable 9.5-inch Slicer & Shaver by Shay Badger

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Basically (update to not so good) Good.

Updated June 2021. Well the new one lasted longer. About five years this time. Used about once a month so far and broke just like the first one. I'm not even a heavy user of it and couldn't take it. If it was cheaper maybe give it a try but considering the price I have to recommend looking elsewhere. Some good stuff and some potential problems. Non-slip rubber insert at the end to prevent it from slipping easily on the cutting board or countertop. Possible problem: I've had mine for about 2 years. Used less than once a month. only 15-20 times. The black plastic adjustment knobs on either side are connected together on the underside by a hollow black plastic tube that has a solid metal rod running through it. But the black plastic buttons are held in place by two very small black plastic tabs on the plastic connector. Well, one of mine is broken. So the handle doesn't stay on and the adjustable blade doesn't stay in one position, so it's pretty much useless. I contacted the manufacturer who said they had a lifetime guarantee against "manufacturing defects" but I would have to send it to them at my own expense so they could determine the source of the problem. To be honest I thought the problem was a design issue rather than a manufacturing defect but I took a chance and spent money to send it back. It's been about four weeks but I got a brand new one back. So kudos to Rosle for supporting their product. But let's see how long the handle stays on this time.
