Review on Filtrete Replacement Sediment Reduction 4WH QCTO F01 by Jonathan Brendemuehl

Revainrating 5 out of 5

An amazing filter that restored the pressure for us and eliminated the baths which made the bottom of the bath invisible!

The water in our fountain comes from a public well shared by 60 people. For many years we have had low water pressure, visible sediment and manganese. We had an old Type G cartridge filter in our house that over the years has closed up at the inlet and outlet like a person's arteries slowly close. We could not use two water sources at the same time. We replaced some pipes and changed the flow direction to flush this excess sediment out of the pipes. Now that the lines were clean, it was time to stop sediment from entering the system. To do this, we replaced the Type G filter with a new one. It cost $40 to install and $8 for two filter packs that we replace monthly. Next we added this expensive Filtrete filter. We've placed it second in line so we don't have to replace it as often. An inexpensive filter is changed monthly and captures most of the sediment. It does an amazing job of keeping sediment from coming out of your lines. You'll know when it's time to change the filter. The flow will be severely restricted when the time comes. I prefer this to all my clogs around the house or what our middle child calls a "chocolate bath." Now our water is crystal clear. The last line of defense is a water softener. Our water has never been so good. The selling price of this filter is high; it's $115 at our local store. I buy them through Revain Prime when the price is between $32-$40. Always in stock due to the price. When it's time for a change; every 2.5-4 months with our water filled with sediment. I like having a cheaper option on hand rather than running to my local store for an additional $80. It only takes a quarter turn to turn the filter on and off and the whole process takes less than 5 minutes.
