Wow! What a price increase!

This is a replacement filter for our entire home system. What makes me think of buying new is that the price is $21 more than last time!

Pros
  • Delivery was very fast
Cons
  • Approx

Cool filter! good replacement for water filter

I installed this filter right on the main line leading to my house. ALL water that comes into my house is filtered. The chlorine levels in my area are ridiculous and the chlorine dried out our skin and scalp when we showered. For a family of two, the filter lasts about 11.5 months. Remember that it is washing clothes, showering, flushing the toilet, etc. This is a great filter and great value for something that will accompany you all year round.

Pros
  • Expensive but decent
Cons
  • Miscellaneous Miscellaneous

Lasts 4 months on tap water

I installed this new water filtration system for Christmas 2020. Now my water pressure is almost non-existent when I flush the toilet AND try to wash my hands afterwards. I installed a "bypass" in the lines to allow water to flow when the filter is off. That's when I found out about the problem that the filter wasn't working properly. If I work in the "Bypass" I now have full pressure again, but without water filtering. I paid over 100€ for this filter. It should last MUCH longer than 4 months!

Pros
  • Excellent overall performance
Cons
  • Sad packaging

Have been using this filter for 6 years now

I originally bought this unit 6 years ago. The entire kit originally cost less than $100 (about $85), with the filters ranging from $40 to $50. I didn't see a big improvement with it. I'm not too pleased that the cost of replacement filters has more than doubled and is now more than what I paid for the entire unit. There are better options out there that last longer, have more filter options, and are cheaper to maintain. how the filter costs/changes. Do yourself a favor and check out…

Pros
  • Decent performance
Cons
  • So far so good

Overpriced replacement filter

It was a good filter system for us. Unfortunately, the price increase was insane. These filters are proprietary. There aren't many alternative refills other than Filtrete that are suitable for this system. Now you can buy a complete housing AND many more standard 10" x 4.5" filters for a lower price than just buying this replacement filter. So next time I need to replace a filter I plan to buy a new format that has more competition in replacement filters to keep the price down.

Pros
  • Handy article
Cons
  • Everything is fine

To be too good to be true.

I got very excited installing this whole house filter at my vacation home in North Carolina. We have a well and the water that ran through it was rusty in color and low in pressure. I knew the filter wouldn't last 12 months with my water but I bought it hoping for the best. The filter cleaned my water perfectly, but the pressure didn't change much. After about 4 months my water pressure dropped even further to the point where I couldn't operate the water hose or more than one sink at a time. I…

Pros
  • Kitchen and Bath Fixtures
Cons
  • Can't remember

The water in our fountain comes from a public well shared by 60 people. For many years we have had low water pressure, visible sediment and manganese. We had an old Type G cartridge filter in our house that over the years has closed up at the inlet and outlet like a person's arteries slowly close. We could not use two water sources at the same time. We replaced some pipes and changed the flow direction to flush this excess sediment out of the pipes. Now that the lines were clean, it was time to

Pros
  • Tools and household goods
Cons
  • Not as thick as other picks

Works well. The cartridges are easy to install and replace (water leaks when changing cartridges, but nothing major) - they even have sealing grease. No leaks after 9 months so seems well done. On the other hand, it should serve a year in a family of 3 or 4 people. After about 8 months we noticed the water pressure dropping, especially when running multiple faucets, showers etc. I installed mine with a bypass valve in front of it, and bypassing the filter immediately restored the water pressure

Pros
  • Spare water filter under the sink
Cons
  • Some small things
