Review on 🚰 5 Gallon Jug Filler Hose & Cap Kit by VP Racing Fuels by David Strawn

cheap and nasty for hoses

The lid itself looks decent but is slightly different than what came with the canister. I'm not entirely sure if these are original parts from the vp brand. Or maybe they just changed the design of the lid since I bought my jar. I do not know. If the stuffing tube is a real VP part, fine. Shame on you. The filler tube is cheap and ugly. It leaves an unpleasant PVC chemical residue smell on your hands when you touch it. You can bet that this type of residue is toxic. And it's not very flexible. I don't know why these companies can't find a durable rubber hose specifically designed for fuel. I would happily live with an opaque tube/hose if it was something better and more flexible. And, for goodness sake, something that doesn't leave a toxic chemical residue on your hands when you touch it. The way they get stuck in the strainer above the fitting and below the pipe looks horrible and cheap. Due to the way they insert it, it makes sure that only 1 spigot of the fitting is in full contact with the hose - this allows for future leaks. And it's not a fine mesh material to filter out a lot. And it looks like plastic. Who knows if it will last. A stainless steel strainer would be nice, but as I said, this thing is cheap and ugly, so keep your expectations low. Are these fittings really fuel safe? There are no size, material or brand marks on it. Quality fittings have this marking. They are probably low-quality, cheaply imported universal nameless fittings that someone imported for almost nothing for a million pieces. The VP cans appear to be of good quality, as do the lids, but the filling tube?! Thing is, it's just a PIC at max. It's basically a pair of irrigation fittings and a piece of PVC hose. How do you build something so simple and so fake? The crimps appear to be of decent quality but mine was actually loose and falling off. I'll do something different for this pen thing. My old one eventually fell apart, but it seemed much better than this new one. This new thing looks like a competition to try and build it as S&*^# as possible. Basically a race down.
