Review on πŸƒ Salomon Speedcross 5 GTX Men's Trail Running Shoes by Louis Turley

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Best running shoes I've found for running in the Northeast fall/winter conditions.

I'm really impressed. So far the tread has performed flawlessly for me through grass, gravel, mud, tree roots and the usual matt trails. Now I understand why they advertise so much Ortholite cushioning. It's a great balance of compliance and durability, comfortable to walk on yet tough enough to inspire confidence no matter the terrain. The Goretex sleeve is really the reason I bought it and I'm not disappointed. It wraps the sole well, keeping you dry in inch-deep mud, snow, or puddles with ease. I was skeptical about the lacing system, have tried different sports laces with road bike shoes in the past and was always disappointed. But these work great. Very easy to loosen and tighten, real lace looks more like braided wire than fabric lace and doesn't bend at all. The fit was great, they really hug your foot. It might feel a little tight at first, but after a few miles they take on the shape of your foot and you're good to go. Just note that they are designed for bad conditions. If you're only dealing with smooth, dry trails, you'll like other shoes better. But if you run in snow, mud, rain or just a very bumpy trail, they will meet your needs.
