I've been working from home for 6 years and have always sat close enough to our wireless router to connect via cable. But since the other two in the house were constantly working wirelessly and doing a lot of video conferences, they complained about the network. And when I had to move indoors to use WiFi all the time, I realized how bad it could be. I've heard of the term "mesh network" but didn't know what it was. My boss said this is what I have to use. So I did some research and settled on Orbi. It's not cheap, but it's a really great solution. Nobody complains about the network anymore. I don't think I've had a single outage and my VPN was a lot more stable too. I bought a set of 2, so the base is on the top floor next to the wiring box and the remote is on the second floor (about 2400 square feet of the house). My daughter uses the basement as a classroom so she uses video all day. Neither of us have a single problem with the network now (I've had it for about a month). I don't know if Orbi is the best solution, maybe another similar product is even better or cheaper, but I'm very happy with it.
