This works very well when the water from the tank runs out of the hose. Pulling the trigger to start the water flow is a bit tiring, but once the water flows out of the outlet tube, you don't have to keep squeezing. The current is actually pretty fast so either have a sink to drain off or a big bucket. Keep an eye on the water level in each bucket so you know when to remove the acrylic tube from the tank to stop the flow. The assembly of the item is very simple and intuitive. Do what I do and do and many others have stated in their reviews. Ignore the orange plastic clip attached to the bucket. It's garbage. Acrylic tubing attachments like mini vacuum attachments work very well, but I only use tubing. I liked the idea of this product when I saw it and decided to take a chance. Good buy. Makes cleaning my daughter's turtle tank much, much easier. **Updated 7/20/2021: My opinion on this device has not changed. It still works very, very well after many months. **
