Review on SEDY Thread Repair Helicoil Metric by John Swain

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Salvaged from the junkyard

My bike's motor almost overheated to 95 degrees during exercise. Only then when I got home did I see oil all over the left side of the car. The inspection revealed an oil leak under the left cylinder head gasket. The cylinder head nuts were already loosened during disassembly, further disassembly shows that the cylinder head studs have torn out of the crankcase, the thread is completely destroyed. I was able to fix damaged threads with this kit while the motor was still in the frame, which saved me all the work. Very complete set in a nice metal case, contains everything you need in different sizes. I used 10mm threaded inserts after drilling the holes and tapping the threads with the tools provided. So this kit saved me from a huge repair bill that would probably exceed the cost of a 30 year old car! What a life saver, self repaired and still the bike! All is well.
