Be sure to use a drill

This tool did the job I bought it for. I took off a star because it wasn't very sharp when it arrived, it unwinds because it's asymmetrical which means you have to use it in a drill press and it doesn't have a dial to set the cutting diameter, so you have to do it This is by eye and for testing. Since the hole I wanted was 5" in diameter, I set the cutter bar quite wide, and the extra radius to the cutter head causes even more unbalanced wobble. I was concerned that the wiggling might be enough to loosen the cartridge. pin of my drill press, but as soon as the tool started biting into the workpiece, which was pressed VERY hard against the table, the wobble diminished a bit. I assume the tool working in the hole gave it some guidance, but it still jarred a drill badly! On the other hand, it came quickly and cut the fairly clean hole I needed into a 3 /8 piece of the outer layer, and for a fraction of what a 5 inch hole saw cost would have set me back. I wouldn't take it to cut a lot of holes, at least not in plywood, but for my unique purpose it did it works great. It will never be one of my favorite tools, but it did the job.
