I bought this collar and internal receiver as a last resort to keep my son's cat out of the room where I keep my incubator and brooder with chicks. I should have done this much sooner. It's expensive, very expensive if you ask me, but it all depends on how much work and how many tears you want to save. For me this is the solution to what I need. It will not harm the cat as it is smart. enough to recognize the beep as a warning. I don't even think the collar ever shocked the cat because she quickly realized the direction she was facing was simply NO. Now I don't have to yell at my family for leaving the room. With the door open I can sleep at night and leave the house without worrying about the door being left open or the incubator uncovered. In addition, in our case, the cat wears it all day and has no problems with it. Plus, the battery lasts for months!
