Maybe it's just a problem with my bike (2005 Ninja zx636r) but that's what I've experienced. The gas cap looks good, but when I installed it I knew I wasn't going to like it. The two washers around the inlet prevent the part from sitting flush with my tank and leave a gap of about 1/8 inch between the part and the tank. After removing it, it suddenly sits flush with no gaps. but I don't feel comfortable driving around the intake port without a gasket. I could just about find another pad but it would be pretty flimsy. When I inspected and installed the part, I finally noticed it. NO VENTILATION SYSTEM. With days averaging in the high 90s, I don't run the risk of gas pouring back out of the tank after unlocking it at a gas station. Pros: Looks good and the ergonomics feel good (screws aren't too long and holes match) Cons: No ventilation or seals. use on it
