Review on 🎧 Immersive Audio Experience: YAMAHA MusicCast BAR 400 Sound Bar by Thu Hang Bach ᠌

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Im amazed! It was definitely worth the money!

Finally, I will write a normal review on this soundbar, unlike all the toothless reviews in RuNet. ;) I re-read a bunch of reviews and reviews, from which I found out that Sony are notable for their unsightly design and problems in connecting the sub to the bar (and in general, the stability of work), Samsung and LG have problems with the quality of sound / music playback, and all the rest are either too exotic and not have technical support in 2022 or the necessary functions. Now in order: 1. Surround sound. Of course, true surround is absent here, but the quality of sound effects in films is sufficient. Unfortunately, DTS Virtual:X "does well" not everywhere and not always. In normal surround mode, spectacular scenes play out much better! Therefore, this mode is best used on movies/programs without special effects (dramas, comedies, etc.). 2. Music. My musical ear says excellent. Relatively flat frequency response over the entire range, which, in fact, is written in foreign reviews - bottom / middle / top sound together and without sound "pits". I won’t talk about “painted highs”, “unclear lower middle” and “indistinct reproduction of the 49-64 Hz range” - this is not equipment costing 200 thousand, and my room, for making such judgments, is not prepared . The purity of the sound is achieved only in the "stereo" mode and with the "bass extension" turned off. 3. Functionality. The sub does not fall off, the 4k video skips, there are no plugging in the volume, Internet radio and DLNA work without interruption, HDMI ARC controls the volume and on / off from the TV remote - there is nothing to add. True, Bluetooth with plugs works (I sin on the configuration of my computer), but AirPlay works fine. Through the application, it was convenient to set up the system / automatically ate the firmware. True, there are no buttons for equalizer presets on the original Yamaha remote control (only in the application), but they do not differ much from each other, and there are buttons on the remote control to switch the stereo for music and sound for movies. In general, I advise you to buy.

Pros
  • Nice and neat design Availability of Dolby, DTS, DTS Virtual:X decoders Playing lossless audio files Internet radio, music services, DLNA AirPlay/Bluetooth HDMI ARC Quality mobile app Expandable to 5.1 with wireless surrounds
Cons
  • Not all functions are displayed on the remote Lack of Dolby TrueHD/Atmos, DTS HDMA/X decoders No custom equalizer Lack of USB for connecting a flash drive / disk with music Lack of learning mode to work with someone else's remote control Expensive wireless surrounds
