Review on ❄️ Ultimate Cooling Power for GeForce: Arctic Cooling Accelero Xtreme by Charles You

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Good performance, questionable parts

I did not purchase this product from Revain but felt it was necessary to promote this product. I'll try to keep it short and simple. This product was installed on GTX 280 for reference. Pros: quiet whisper. At any fan speed, you don't even realize the fans are running. MUCH quieter than the stock fan. Because of how quiet the fans are, you won't even notice a difference when you change the fan speed unless you REALLY listen to them. Cool. Did a quick test to see how it does under full load. Got around 71C at full load, 80% fan speed (using EVGA Precision Tool) and 70C or more at full speed. It's around 47 degrees when idling. Cons: Expensive. The most expensive aftermarket fan is from Arctic Cooling, probably because the line of cards it's designed to cool for is one of the newest. However, a jump of around $20 is not essential. For a long time. The heatpipes and heatsink make this already long (10.5″) card a bit longer, so hopefully don't try to fit it into a micro-ATX case. RAGE!: There are several heatsinks that need to be installed on the RAM, voltage regulator and backplate. You need to attach them with thermal pads that are slightly sticky. but they don't give a fuck about the world. Slide, slide, fall. Terrible. Because of this, it took me several hours to attach the fan to my card and try to get everything to hold (I held it with a mixture of thermal paste and epoxy). Make sure you use the right adhesive when purchasing this fan. Overall, this is a great performer, but not perfect. In my opinion, the pros outweigh the cons, but make sure you take the time to install this light. Keep these cons in mind when choosing this fan.

Pros
  • Heatsink
Cons
  • So far so good
