This connector does not have a recess deep enough to ensure a good seal with the tube. (It was confirmed to be fully seated.) There were no external scratches or scuffs on the tube and it was brand new. I cut the pipe twice (I used a precision knife to get a very flat cut surface) and saw my RO system leak at that joint after turning the water back on both times. Went to Menards, bought a Watts 3/8" tee and a 3/8" to 1/4" adapter. After that I threw them in place.
