For the price it's worth it. I think they work great and give you extra room to work, but they're a little stickier than expected and that can be a little disappointing, but better too sticky than not enough right? With a little patience, you can reduce the stickiness and get great rugs at a fraction of the price of big brands. Just check with the leftover material first which mat works best for your project and reduce the stickiness if necessary before using. You can do this a number of ways: either take a few sheets of strong plastic or paper, place them on the mat and peel them off a few times until they are where you want them, or use a clean piece to do this fabric the same. . Also, remember to turn your cutouts upside down and peel them off slowly so the paper doesn't catch on the mat or tear. Be sure to keep the plastic insert that comes with each of these mats to store your mats so they don't get dusty or dirty when not in use. You can also cut plastic wrap or unused plastic sheets/materials you have at home, cling film or non-stick paper to cover the parts of the mat that will not be used/cut during your project. Helps keep the mat clean during use. Tools help too, although I have a number of tools for this craft I found great tools at the dollar store that help as well. Mat.
