Review on Boeray 11' Fiberglass Running Electrical Wire Cable Pulling Fish Tape Kit: 5 Attachments & Tool in a Carry-Case by Dave Goodman

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Old school electricity teacher renovating a house.

Now that I'm retired and widowed I've decided to invest in a small townhouse to rent until I can't ranch anymore and then move to town. The house was built in 1958 and all had 2 outlets. I wanted to upgrade the house to three pin connectors and add some circuitry. I gave it a 3 rating for the following reasons: #1. All the bars bolt together - ONLY you can never attach 2 bars together unless you use a lock washer or seal the joint. The same with the last bracket. I was always afraid that the stick would come off the wall. #2. The only option on the flexible ferrule is a ferrule with a hole through which wire #12 can be threaded. Both threaded ends would be a better option as a hook or magnet can then be added. #3. magnetic end. Unless you're my age, you don't know that a magnet is used to grab a chain of steel balls. Ball chain, for those who don't know, is the chain used by the military for their dog tags. Hardware stores sell it by the piece. Get about 8 feet. Use it where gravity has the advantage by throwing it down a hole in a wall or in the ground. Then use the magnet and some sticks to pull the ball chain out of the wall and then attach the rope to the wire. The included 8ft ball chain is DELUXE.#4. One of the nozzles - a round nose does nothing but cover the thread. Not impressed at all #5. If you are a professional licensed electrician, spend more and get a good one. Homeowners, masters of quality.
