My cat has become very restless as my work has become more hectic. I left and she sat at the door and woke my friend up in the morning with her howling. Or she would wake us both up at 4am as soon as the birds started chirping and die of wanting to practice outside. We started the schedule to give her this half an hour before her usual worry time kicks in and she seems a lot happier now. She finally seems calm enough to relax and enjoys cuddling again. She is a very affectionate cat, but at times of heightened anxiety she becomes distracted and does not want to be petted or even played with her toys. Previously, as my schedule got fuller, from 20-30 hours to 40-50 hours a week. she will be covered with a rash. As soon as I started giving her this the rash went away and she is just a happy kitten. She still meows occasionally but is easily distracted or stops after a few minutes rather than trying to ignore her for over an hour while she howls. We also have a dog and he doesn't bother her but she avoids parts of the house as she knows where he is. Now she approaches him while he is sleeping and starts cleaning him. Before that I tried all these different interactive toys, calming collars and a pheromone diffuser. This seemed to give the best results. I don't feel like she's a different cat, but her personality was really able to shine again without being distracted or missing me when I'm away. And she really likes the treats, which she resorts to every time she hears me open the bag.
