Spent most of the day installing this (working alone). Below are my observations which I hope can help others. I've included pictures of the back of the transmitter and receiver to show the letters "T" and "R" that differentiate them. I didn't see her right away. I've also included a picture of the mount I used in hopes of better explaining why peepholes aren't very helpful in this setup. Cons: 1.) "Sensitivity" appears to mean the amount of time in milliseconds (ms) that the beam must be interrupted to trigger an alarm. The factory default is 200ms, and the instructions say it can be set to 100ms. If a 12" person (profile - no belly) walks through the beam at 3mph, the beam will be blocked for 227ms, which should set off an alarm. The same person who runs at 6 mph (114 ms) won't do this unless you set it to 100 ms. I tested this by walking through the beam slowly and fairly quickly. I was only able to turn it on by walking slowly (I didn't measure my actual speed). At least it wasn't entirely clear to me how to change the setting to 100ms. I can't understand why it wasn't designed with the default maximum sensitivity (i.e. instantaneous). When I first installed the system, I installed it about 5 feet off the ground. I've driven my UTV through the beam a few times at various speeds with no signaling. I think it's just my head that broke the beam. I moved the sensors lower (about 2 feet off the ground) and then kept getting alarms. Regardless of this sensitivity, there is a delay between the moment the beam breaks and the moment the alarm is sent to the "base station". It seems to be around 1-2 seconds. That's not too much of a problem for me since my driveway is about 230 feet long. For shorter distances, this can be a problem for some. Again, I can't understand why it was designed that way. 2.) "Eye" for aligning the sensors isn't very useful when mounting blocks on strong poles. It's a bit hard to explain without a picture (I've included one), but when the mounting brackets are at 90 degrees to the beam path, the blocks cannot be moved enough to adjust and calibrate the system (reason is the length of this one small cutting sheet). On the other hand, if you install the brackets "in line" with the joist where they can be moved enough (like I show in the picture) you won't be able to see through the post to look through the peepholes. I had to see them by moving some distance away from the sensors and looking at them. Mine are about 25 feet apart so that worked, but for a 300 foot distance I don't think you could do that. Pros: 1.) I will say that the signal strength seems pretty good. Mine is installed about 230 feet from my window where the base unit receiver is located and I get an alarm every time. With other systems I've tried, transmission range has always been an issue. Not with that. 2.) The alarm clock is quite loud, which is a good thing. I had other devices but couldn't hear them from other parts of the house. There are many easily changeable and annoying alarm tones. (I finally found one I could tolerate.) 3.) The base unit runs on 4 AA batteries (not included). This allows you to take the base unit with you when setting up sensors for testing and calibration. 4.) Excellent customer service. Most companies these days aren't as responsive as these guys. This is a big plus. I emailed them and they responded immediately. That is the main reason for 5 stars. In general, despite the above disadvantages, I am satisfied with the system. I bought a system to detect cars and trucks pulling up on my property and it seems to be doing a good job. Most importantly, no false alarms like the proximity sensor systems I've had before. Updated 01/19/2021 - Highly recommended. The thing works great. Best Feature - NO FALSE SIGNALS!
