Does the job, just needs a little improvisation to suit my needs

Needs a portable skein holder which I just didn't want to find the hassle of finding the center draw. Can be assembled very easily and quickly. The quality is excellent. The wood is lacquered in a beautiful color to bring out the texture and is smooth throughout. There are no places where you can get caught on the yarn. The only thing I had to improvise was a non-slip surface to place the holder on the armrest of my chair and something to keep the yarn from slipping between the floor panel it sits on and the base and stop, to turn. I believe, small silicone feet with adhesive backing were included, but that wouldn't work for my situation. Improvised with a leftover mat handle that does the trick. Provides support to the base and prevents the mount from slipping. So that the yarn doesn't slip between the plate and the surface, I improvised with a paper plate. I cut a small cross in the center of the panel to pierce the tapered rod and pressed the panel upside down so it was resting on the bottom panel. Then place the yarn on the holder. As you can see, the large strand I use slacks well past the small diameter of the bottom board, but the paper plate supports it well and the working yarn doesn't slip between the bottom wood board and the base. 4 stars because of my situation but if you use it on a flat surface and with small strong strands you won't have these problems! in the middle of the plate to pierce the conical rod, and turned the plate upside down so that it rests on the bottom plate. Then place the yarn on the holder.
