The startech hotspot is a useful device for small businesses that need a controlled hotspot for customers or employees. The Startech device has a neat feature that allows you to press a button and get a key to connect to the device. This allows you to control access to the device and assign unique passwords to clients. This public hotspot feature allows you to enter a custom landing page and limit a single user's bandwidth, among other useful features. The device is simply a router with a number of features that will save a significant amount of consulting costs for a user in a small business who is willing to take the time to set up the device. Router what is the limiting factor. The device support page is a bit minimal, but they have a dedicated support number for the device so you can contact a representative for assistance during business hours. So it depends on the use case. If your coffee shop/guest house/small business wants guest users to have limited or controlled access to the internet, then this is the device for you. If not, then it makes little sense. For what it does, it does it pretty well - if it were just AC it would be a 5 out of 5 device.
