Review on πŸ’§ 1.6 HP Electric Shallow Well Sump Pump Stainless Booster Pump for Lawn Water Transfer, Home Garden Irrigation (Blue) by James Hova

Revainrating 5 out of 5

An adapter is required to use this pump.

I made the mistake of buying two 1" NPT to 3/4 GHT adapters when I bought this 1.6 HP garden water pump that I use to suck up seawater to water my lawn. Adapters on the "suction side" of the pump, and you can't use a garden hose (which is not reinforced hose and is the wrong diameter) on the suction side because it will shrink inward (similar to over-sucking a straw when drinking soda) . ).The diameter of the garden hose is too small for the suction hose and will not supply enough water to the pump,so the pump will not work.Since a garden hose will not fit,you don't need this adapter/adapter for the suction side of the pump. What you need for the suction side of the pump to use is a 1" drain pump hose that is already NPT (National Pipe Thread) and the same diameter as the pump inlet valve (1") so it doesn't need this or any other adapter. The Drain pump hose fits perfectly and works great without an adapter. So when you buy this water pump, you can't use a garden hose as a suction hose, so don't waste your time and money trying. I've tried this and it doesn't work. Simply purchase a 1" drain pump hose for the suction hose. Also for a 1.6 HP pump. The drain pump must be no more than 10 feet from your lake/water source. "Pull" or suction is sufficient. Therefore, must You will position the pump so that it is no more than 10 feet from your lake/water source, so purchase a drain pump hose no longer than 10 feet.Cheapest drain pump hose (10 feet) I found $29.00 off the delivery of the tractor. Best regards, be sure to use this adapter on your "outlet side" of the pump. You will need an adapter (1" NPT to 3/4" GHT). But again only on the outlet. It works i.e. such that the larger diameter inlet (drain pump hose) feeds more than enough water to the pump, forcing it through the smaller diameter garden shed, increasing the water pressure enough for you to use the sprinkler be able. or nozzle at the end of the drain hose. It also provides enough pressure so you can use at least 150 feet of garden hose. I was able to water my weed at least 150 feet from the pump and had decent pressure. Therefore, buy an adapter for the outlet side of the pump. Also, I bought a "bottom valve" for my inlet hose (1" Parts2O TC2503LF bottom valve). This is absolutely necessary as it maintains the water pressure in your hoses when you temporarily turn off the pump (e.g. when changing from Sprinkler to sprayer.) It also filters the incoming water preventing clogging or damage to the pump. Also it is very heavy so it acts as a "weight" and quickly lowers your hose to the bottom of the lake and hooks it up Holds in place. I bought it used from Revain and saved $10. New or used is worth the money. One last note, do yourself a favor and check the general water quality of the lake (or spring). Use only a small portion of the grass to see how the grass reacts to the seawater before using the seawater on the entire lawn. There may be many specific chemicals or fertilizers in the W ater that can damage young grass. Especially if you are planting or reseeding lawns and are dependent on sea water. Most lakes are polluted by manure runoff, and over-fertilizing with new grass seed or turf can be harmful. Seawater is not usually harmful to established lawns. Rooted grass is not as fragile. Much luck!
