Review on ☕ BLACK+DECKER Single Serve Coffee Maker, Black, CM618 by Ben Rodriguez

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Small size, auto shut off, perfect for 1-2 cups

I love my little Mr. Coffee this Black & Decker Single Serve. What attracted me most to this Black & Decker product was (1) its small size, barely larger than the travel mug that came with it, and (2) the auto shut-off feature that kicks in when the coffee is brewed. (How many times have you left the house and wondered if you turned off the coffee maker?) The quality of the coffee brewed in the eternal fine filter is excellent. The coffee is brewed in a mug that is much hotter than my Mr. Coffee which was warm but not hot. Black & Decker comes out hot. You'll need to let it cool down a bit before drinking, which is good if you want to take it with you on the go and keep it hot. The capacity of a travel mug with a tight lid is half a liter when filled to the brim. Thus, it essentially holds two regular cups (no mugs) of coffee. The screen (paper filters are not required) is easy to clean. The only thing to keep in mind is that if you remove the travel mug before the coffee has completely dripped into the mug, a few more drips will spill out. This situation can be easily corrected by placing a paper towel or other coffee cup underneath. By the way, you don't have to use a travel mug. You can use any coffee cup. Even a mug 17 centimeters high (the height of the included travel mug) will do. UPDATE 04/30/17: I noticed that the coffee maker is now not processing all the filled water. Remains unprocessed 100-200 milliliters. Then you have to press the start button again after about 30 seconds to process the rest of the coffee.

Pros
  • I'll keep my fingers crossed
Cons
  • Almost never
