I bought them to protect my fruit from birds. When the bags are placed on top of the fruit (pictured are my figs) and the laces are tightened, the bags stay in place. They are transparent enough to let sunlight penetrate while the fruit is ripe and strong enough to repel birds and bugs. The pouches are easy to put on and take off so you can pick up fruit and enjoy. I've used bags over and over again! I also use bags for my tomatoes and they work like a charm to keep birds and bugs out. Some of the steak tomatoes got so big I had to cut open the bags. So I ordered the next larger size, 10x8 inches. They give the tomatoes more room to grow. I've also started packing my little cherry tomato clusters in big bags. My peppers and strawberries seem safe for now, but I'll pack them up if birds or bugs start nibbling on them. Great product and great price!
