Purchased in July 2013 when it was warm outside and it worked well when the outside temperature dropped below 40 degrees Fahrenheit and you went outside to start the car. sounded like hell. It seems to have dried up from the liquid from the burning socket, let it warm up for 10 minutes and it will calm down. The colder the louder the storm, I wouldn't recommend this as a replacement, I bought a used OEM to replace.
