Unfortunately, you get what you pay for.

I've only used these bags twice, ending up hiking/climbing. After the second ride, I noticed that the smallest pocket next to the yellow Velcro tab (pictured) was torn. My wallet and phone were just wet, but if I had taken the bag with me on the third trip it might have been game over. This crack could have been a manufacturing defect, but seeing where it broke, I'm convinced otherwise. When the Velcro tab is moved 90 degrees away from the front of the bag, it's very easy to see why. In this orientation, the flap becomes rigid against the material of the bag as it is folded sideways. This makes the glued flap area prone to tearing if something gets caught on the side of the bag as the bag can flex while the rigid orientation of the flap cannot. I would give it three stars, but since "waterproof" bags either work or they don't (in my opinion), there's really no reason to rate "fur".

Pros
  • High marks for support and durability from testers
Cons
  • Hard to say
