I have found this to be a great tool to help me stick to my diet/exercise program. I think the instant feedback I get helps me stay motivated. It's firmly attached to my belt; I don't forget that he is there. I like the very achievable goal of hitting "net calories" β that is, the difference between my calories in and calories out. I don't reinstall it every day. I like to keep a running total for about a week at a time. If I get 3500 net calories, that's a 1# loss. I try to keep this # steady for a few days, then work on increasing it back up to a net amount of 7000 calories or 2#s. Parking outside the store, climbing stairs, etc. This is in addition to active walking 5 days a week. I've been using my Caltrac for about a month now and lost the first 10# pretty easily. I need a good pocket calorie guide. Calorie King is a good option. Don't worry about the "biggest loser". This is a very bad product.
