I've tried a few drippers lately and this is my favorite. I'm the only coffee drinker in our house, so I usually make cup at a time just for myself. The dropper and the double-walled glass are well insulated and keep you warm. I use a Fellows Stagg EKG kettle so my water is tightly temperature controlled. First I pour hot water over the metal basket and cup to heat it up. I found the Kalita Wave 185 filters to be perfect for this. They are a good alternative to Fellows filters - exactly the same size and a little more economical. I also like the slightly stiffer texture of the Kalita filters. I noticed that some reviews mention a hole in the bottom to allow water to condense between the double panes. I don't think it should be. Mine has a sealed hole in the glass at the bottom so the double wall is completely sealed. I have washed the glass mug in the dishwasher several times with no problems. I hand wash the basket because while it appears durable, the black finish doesn't look all that durable. The basket has a nice rubber ring around the bottom that can be removed for cleaning. It fits perfectly on any mug, so you can drip straight into the cup instead of a glass mug.
