Nice but needs work.

Looks good but pours horribly and the drip brew is slowly dying due to a bad design flaw. More space is needed to separate the bottom of the filter and the metal holes to allow the coffee to flow freely. You need to lift the filter or hold it out of a metal cup.

Manufacturer will not repair defective trial glass

The trial glass has a defect that causes water/moisture to collect between the inner and outer walls of the glass. I contacted Fellows and they confirmed it was a manufacturing defect but did not provide a replacement. Pretty terrible quality and customer care. I do not recommend.

Pros
  • Excellent construction
Cons
  • Minor issues

My new pace for working days.

I've been looking for a caster for a day's work for a long time. I love my Chemex and Aeropress, but I tend to sleep so speed is important to me in the morning. The Stagg XF is great for this. The coffee may not have all the deeper, lighter notes that a Chemex or AeroPress has. But it's way better than Keurig or Nespresso at work. I recommend a slightly finer grind than the Fellows recommended medium grind, otherwise the water will just ooze out.

  • Good stuff

  • No form needed

MAKE THE BEST COFFEE IN STYLE WITH THIS FELLOW STAGG COFFEE MAKING SYSTEM

Brewing 2 cups of coffee with this Fellow Stagg XF brewing system was a lot of fun thanks to the matching Fellow Stagg EKG kettle. The coffee was really delicious. In fact, I'm so spoiled by the pourover method that makes the coffee taste so great that I don't want to use our other coffee makers. Very nicely designed. The measurement markings help ensure the correct amount of coffee beans/coffee powder is used to brew the best cup(s) of coffee. The double wall glass tumbler is of good quality…

star. Sorry, but more than a month has passed and the filters are sold out. This is unacceptable, the kit costs $100 and is now practically dead weight in my kitchen. I was very happy with this coffee maker. It's well made, easy to use and clean, and the coffee tastes great. But I need more filters and they stopped making them. I had no luck. The custom design of the XF container means you can't use pre-made filters, instead I rely entirely on Stagg to make more of their molded filters. Who…

Form over Function - Coffee Makers

Fur. Stagg's teapot is godlike, but her potting system isn't that impressive. There are five things I don't like about it that you might disagree with: 1. The perimeter of the dripper is narrow, making it difficult for the grounds to get in without carrying fine particles out of the filter. They provide a funnel and it works, but that's another detail to deal with.2. The pipette does not sit directly on the vessel, which can lead to uneven flow. I want to almost level the dropper before…

Love this most in Pour Over Coffee Makers

I've tried a few drippers lately and this is my favorite. I'm the only coffee drinker in our house, so I usually make cup at a time just for myself. The dropper and the double-walled glass are well insulated and keep you warm. I use a Fellows Stagg EKG kettle so my water is tightly temperature controlled. First I pour hot water over the metal basket and cup to heat it up. I found the Kalita Wave 185 filters to be perfect for this. They are a good alternative to Fellows filters - exactly the…

Great brewer with a new twist!

I've been making my daily infusion coffee for over 6 years. Chemex, V60, Meditation, etc. each has its own taste and "quality". Saw this set from Fellow (I use their kettle and love it) so I had to try it. That's fascinating. As you visualize, enjoy the "cool factor". More importantly, it's a new pouring method with a unique cup. I'm using xf so that's 2 cups. The shape, configuration and size of the holes as well as the filter create an overpour, ie an immersion brewer. Let me explain, coffee…
