To test this, I put a hot water bottle inside along with a thermometer, monitored the temperature for 30 minutes, and then repeated while the bottle sat on the counter at room temperature. In the bag, the bottle took 20 minutes to drop more than 5 degrees, while on the counter it dropped 10 degrees in under 5 minutes. Pretty good soundproofing!
