Review on Airtex E3518M Fuel Module Assembly by Ans Brownlee

Revainrating 4 out of 5

The price is much better than the local parts store - there is a pump.

Much better price than local parts stores - Pump fits and works well. I had a problem with a new o-ring. I used the one that came with the kit, but it had a slightly larger internal diameter and didn't seat properly, resulting in a fuel leak. Had to remove the pump and reinstall with my original o-ring and all is good now. I also soldered all the new connections and applied heat shrink tubing as I'm not sure about using the supplied crimp type butt connectors. I can't really see the benefit of their 'upgraded' plug - my original plug and pump lasted 191,000 miles with no sign of corrosion. The biggest problem is removing the locking ring on the Aurora to gain access to the pump. Made a key for the 2nd expansion. Yes, I would buy again, especially when the dealer was charging around $600 for a replacement, including a $480 pump!

Pros
  • Excellent overall performance
Cons
  • Expensive
