Review on πŸš— Uriah Products Aluma-Tow UT623410: 6" Drop Ball Mount for 2" Receiver- A Perfect Towing Solution by Richard Edwar

Updated and improved design. Now you can ignore most of the negative reviews.

First, the manufacturer clearly listened and made some much-needed changes. Gone are the socket head screws that only held the hitch balls on one side. There is now a through hole in the ball stud and a larger diameter pin that goes through to eliminate the weakness of the studs when they break. There is now plenty of room even with a 2 5/16" ball. First impressions are that this is a solid and well built construction. I would like the moving vertical piece to have a solid back rather than a C shape. like an unnecessary weakness. Everything was beautifully finished and perfectly fitted. Assembly is easy and requires no tools. In my application with a 1986 Chevy C30 I had to use it as a lift not a drop and it worked. Auto dump truck loaded with my lifted 1990 V2500 commuter with no complaints (about 7750 pounds total). I like the reliability of the locking pins (I had the same keys) and the strength of having 2 pins in the adjustable parts compared to other designs that only have 1 have. Seems which for the price is pretty hard to beat. The only thing that bothers me is the aforementioned vertical part that doesn't fully cover the main column and the fact that i as it doesn't fit very snugly to my truck's intake but I'm very happy with the purchase and would do it again I'll update if pro pimples arise.
