Two layers are required for complete privacy. With 1 layer you can still see through it, but things are obscured. With 2 layers you basically can't see through it at all. Depends what you're looking for and how much you want to spend.Also, if the area you are covering will see winds of over 20mph, you will need to get the 180lb big boy zip ties. I didn't use any of the zip ties that came with the screens. Instead I bought good quality 11" ones but a few still broke off in strong winds. As they break I replace them with a 180lb zip tie. My advice is to watch it for a few weeks and fix as needed.Holding up so far but only been on for a week or so. Will update if I have any issues. I'm a little worried the fabric will start tearing due to the strong winds I'm experiencing on my balcony.
