Finally found the courage to make the switch from nonstick to cast iron and this was my first purchase. In short, I'm very impressed with the difference! I use this pan primarily for making dosa (an Indian form of rice and lentil pancakes) and anyone who has experience with this dish can attest that they are tender and spoil easily. I initially had hiccups from food sticking to the pan but it gets better and better over time as promised. I updated the seasoning after the first (unsuccessful) use and haven't had any issues with it since. A dainty little workhorse that looks set to make a great addition to my kitchen for years to come. But the pen holder doesn't bother me. He keeps slipping, which is very dangerous. There is a lot of good advice on the internet about seasoning and regular care of your cast iron cookware.
