Review on ๐Ÿ”ถ Bilstein 24-141727 Front Shock: High-Quality Yellow Upgrade for Jeep Wrangler JK by Nathan Jankowski

Revainrating 5 out of 5

It's worth the money and time to upgrade to these Bilsteins!

Front shock absorbers are not easy to replace but are worth the trouble and expense if you feel your vehicle is less than appealing! Today I changed the rear and front wheels, the whole process took about 2 hours with the front taking the most time due to the effort and time spent removing the stock shock absorbers. In the end, despite a lot of oil penetrating and a bit of heat, the upper screw on both shock absorbers broke. With the old ones removed, installing the new Bilsteins took about 15 minutes using the usual tools, a 17mm spanner, 18mm socket and 18mm spanner. Reuse the top bushing by using the new bushing under the bracket. I could remove the old bushing in a week or two and install a new top bushing if the top stem allows it. If not, I'm fine with the new bushing below and the original above for now. As for the ride. goes.cool! The jeep drives like new, bad roads don't bother anymore. The blue boots clump together once installed, but you don't really notice it when you crawl out from underneath. I should have swapped out the shocks for these Bilsteins a year or two ago, so glad I took the time to get my ride back today!
