I love it! Improved performance, improved sound

Love it! It took me a full 2 hours to install on my 2008 Jeep Patriot (mainly due to limited space in some areas), but overall it's doable for any inexperienced DIYer. I noticed an immediate improvement in the car's response and acceleration (not critical, but worth the money). I haven't had it installed long enough to comment on the fuel efficiency. It definitely has a dramatic impact on the sound. Below 2500 rpm it's not much louder than the original, although it does sound a little lower. It's a bit louder around 3000rpm, but where it really stands out, at 4000rpm, it has a really loud growl. Overall, I've noticed an increase in performance and my Jeep may definitely be louder, but it isn't. which is important under normal driving conditions. Installation isn't difficult, but it's a bit of a hassle and the instructions can be more specific (although you should have an idea of what you should be doing). Removing the intake hose from the engine is itself the trickiest part. . The stock pull-in clamp wasn't pointed in the most convenient direction, and there's very little room in that area, so it took a long time to remove. As for the temp sensor, I used some WD-40 to lubricate the sensor and rubber ring, hold the ring in place inside the new inlet hose and push it straight in (it goes in with some force). If you get it out of the stock hose you can pry it out with a flat head screwdriver (carefully of course) to get the job done quickly - I didn't even need lube on that part. The only other part of the dig worth noting is that removing the wiring harness from the standard intake hose is a process. I ended up cutting off the connector as I was working in low light and didn't have the right tools to remove it (a small pair of pliers would have helped).
