Use of a non-standard 1/4 " BSPT air intake is not acceptable; return for return
valve thread uses 1/4" BSPT (British Standard Pipe Taper) instead of the commonly used 1/4" NPT threads .. male threads up to 1/4 NPT) to no avail John Dow does not appear to have considered the US market when selecting the check valve specs for /4" NPT as opposed to the one I received, the 1 /4" BSPT. My guess is that this extractor was made for John Dow Industries Offshore and they were unable to install the l-spec NPT inlet valve assembly that is commonly used in the United States
